Our Hearts Go Out To British Columbia
At Pet Valu and Paulmac’s Pets our hearts are going out to those affected by the devastating wildfires in BC, forcing the evacuation of residents and businesses. Many residences and businesses have already been destroyed, and over 14,000 people have had to leave their homes.
Our stores within the affected areas have been safely evacuated. Over the next couple days we anticipate more stores and communities may need to be evacuated and we are making arrangements for staff and pets to get out safely.
Our CEO Tom McNeely has pledged that Pet Valu is corporately donating $100,000 in product to help families and pets in British Columbia. This includes sending much needed food, litter and crates to local rescues.
We know our customers and team might also want to help, so we are going to immediately start accepting cash donations at our stores, 100% of donations will go directly to the Canadian Red Cross, Prince George Humane Society and Four Paws Rescue.
Our stores in Prince George and Kamloops will also be collecting new and used product donations from the public – Pet Valu will work with these stores to take care of transporting these donations where they need to go.
